Hunting mainly at dusk and dawn means that Crocodile Skinks are a crepuscular species. They are insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor. They will eat small grubs, worms, snails, slugs, bugs, roaches, crickets plus all sorts of beetle larvae. In captivity, it’s important to give them as large as variety of foods as possible. Most commercially-available feeder insects are available in a variety of sizes, so you can match the size of the food to that of the skinks. Always gut-load the livefood items you provide, as this will improve their nutritional value for the skinks.

What both the adult and baby tribs have in common is their love of larvae of bugs. Waxworms are great for growing tribs, but are high in fat, so only feed these as a treat rather than as a staple food.
The only differences between the diet of adult and baby tribs is that the young need to be fed every other day, whereas the adults should be fed no more than three times a week. Use a calcium-supplement five out of six feeds and a multi-vitamin D3 supplement on the other occasion for them.
Tribs are very shy by nature so you may only rarely see them actively moving about their enclosure. You will probably not witness them feeding much, if at all. Just keep an eye on the amount of food being consumed in the cage, relax and let them get on with things.
